Project Award: Vesta Street, Manchester
Eric Wright Construction has awarded Speedclad the contract to design, supply and install the ceramic granite rainscreen cladding facade on a new private residential scheme in Manchester's city centre.
The Vesta Street development builds on the regeneration objectives of development company, Manchester Life, a joint venture between Manchester City Council and the owners of Manchester City FC, the Abu Dhabi United Group. Vesta Street will provide 172 new homes, ranging from 1-3 bed apartments, 3-4 bed duplexes and 4-bed townhouses, arranged around a central lobby and amenities area. The development is located in New Islington, adjacent to the historic Ashton Canal and the building scales up from 7 to 9 storeys, with additional design features by architects, Rafael Vinoly, to reflect the surrounding environment and waterway.
Speedclad has already completed the SFS package on this scheme and is due to commence on site on the rainscreen cladding contract in early 2019. Speedclad's contract comprises a Shackerley ceramic granite cladding in a natural colour, aluminium panels and all associated items.
