Project Award: Vaughan Way, Leicester
Key client, Winvic Construction, has awarded Speedclad the curtain walling contract on a major development for the private rental sector in central Leicester.
The £43 million regeneration of a site on Vaughan Way, opposite the Highcross Shopping Centre, will provide 298 high-quality apartments with additional amenities including rooftop terrace, work from home spaces and private screening and games room, plus 120 car parking spaces. The development also includes 750 sqm of commercial floor space with a portion of this allocated for a convenience store. The scheme comes from real estate asset manager, Long Harbour, and local developer, Sowden Group, and will consist of an 11-storey block to the Vaughan Way front, stepping down to seven and five storeys on the rear elevations.
Speedclad will be delivering the design, supply and installation of the APA Facade Systems curtain walling, along with all associated items, during the summer of 2018. You can watch the live feed from this site, along with numerous others, plus time-lapse footage, on Winvic Live.
